Montesarchio Italy

Montesarchio (Neapolitan: Muntesarchio; Latin: Caudium; Ancient Greek: Καύδιον, romanized: Kaúdion) is a municipality in the Province of Benevento, Campania, in southern Italy. It is located 18 kilometres (11 miles) southeast of Benevento in the Valle Caudina at the foot of Monte Taburno. The municipality was granted official city status (Città) by a presidential decree on 31 July 1977.
