Capri is a stunningly picturesque retreat located 5 km from mainland Italy in the Bay of Naples. It has been a renowned beauty spot and seaside resort since the era of the emperors. The square is surrounded by the "Torre dell'Orologio", or Clock Tower, and the island's main church, San Stefano. Anacapri, the island's second-largest settlement, is situated a few miles west of Capri town. Anacapri offers visitors numerous art and craft shops, as well as the opportunity to take a chair lift ride to the peak of Mount Solaro.
